About The Blind Gamer
Five children. Four boys. Two neurodiverse journeys. One goal:
Focus.
In our home, "The Blind Gamer" isn’t just a title; it’s a philosophy. "If you don't have money, hide your face." That is, if you don't have focus and cannot begin making the connections to the world around you, you haven't played hard enough. Whether it’s my 9-year-old leading the pack or my almost 2-year old excitedly watching from the sidelines, I’ve seen how repetitious gameplay can ground a child. For my son on the spectrum and other son dealing with attention hurdles, the simulated market and the gaming arena provide the "intervals" of intensity they need to truly relax and digest the world around them. Join us as I document how we use play to meet grade-level milestones and cultivate the emotional regulation needed for adulthood.
